Q. Are you able to advise me if your business addresses any issues regarding CSR?
A. Certainly. Social and environmental concerns are at the center of our mission, vision and values of our corporate structure.
Q. Do you address any environmental issues of actions within the business operations?
A. Yes, in many ways, we have a massive solar panel system that generates more power than our business consumes, we have sourced cleaner and more efficient products to provide to our customers including battery powered mowers and we recycle as much packaging as possible to reduce land fill and are striving for a for a paper free office.
Q. Are there any considerations regarding ethical sourcing of materials or goods?
A. Absolutely, before we partner with any supplier, we extensively research the company and, in most cases, we visit their factories to confirm they have decent working conditions, uphold high health and safety standards and conduct business with good ethics.
Q. Have you adjusted address any social factors of your staff, particularly with regards to the recent pandemic.
A. Yes, we have provided more flexible working conditions and work from home as required. We have set up cleanliness programs to help stop the spread of sicknesses.
Q. Does your business have a relationship with any social and/or charitable organisations?
A. Yes, we have provided significant donations to charities like the Cancer Council, Diabetes Australia, Rapid Relief Team, Heart Foundation and Royal Flying Doctor service. We also encourage our staff to volunteer time for charities and make allowances for them to help with events.
Q. Are there any day-to-day practices that cover ethical, environmental, or social factors?
A. All the points I’ve mentioned, particularly around reducing carbon footprints through choices we make are included in our day-to-day practices. We are constantly helping our customer base to reduce their carbon footprints through the use of our cleaner and more efficient products.
Q. Have these initiatives helped or hindered your business in any way?
A. I would say all these initiatives have helped our business because it provides greater purpose which energies our team to do more.
Q. Can you see a return on investment for some of the actions the business has undertaken?
A. Yes, for the reason I have just mentioned, no I can’t quantify what the actual ROI is but our business has doubled in 3 three years and CSR is at center the of our corporate structure and influences every action.
